He started some of the most original dark / doom / black metal Finnish underground projects until now: Let Me Dream, Saattue, 0 X í S T. Two of them have played in Romania, at the distance of 11 years each other, being excellent welcomed by local metalheads. But now Jani Koskela decided it was time for a new beginning, so in 2015 he founded Horizon of the Mute.

What could be more challenging for an artist than a solo project and what could be more daring than to make funeral doom metal in its purest form? Horizon of the Mute makes its first steps down with an EP which contains three songs extremely difficult to follow and in the same time very long. The album insists (predictably) on the three morbid defining elements: low voices, neverending guitars and terrifying keys. Gently swaying into doom / death, sometimes more spacious than you'd expect, Horizon of the Mute seem a natural continuation of 0 X í S T albums. Exploring the unknown, an answer to many questions, lots of questions without response. A mindset that kills you from inside, a moment of despair and darkening of the mind that leads to the brink of the terminus of material existence.

Suicidal? Very likely yes. Suggested even on the cover of this EP. In an existential void, beyond any shred of hope, Horizon of the Mute is the last crumb of denying the reality. Slow, dark, mysterious, "Horizon of the Mute" suffocates you in gray and dismal.
