Forces of Metal Festival (Holland) faces credibility crisis

December 18th, 2011
Forces of Metal Festival, whose first edition is scheduled summer of 2012, faces serious credibility crisis, after first day headliner, Manowar canceled their performance & name of second day headliner, Twisted Siter was removed from the event's website without a word.

Scheduled for 8th & 9th of June 2012, Forces of Metal Festival was introduced to the world this September, as an event that will not pass unnoticed in the hard rock and heavy metal area. To strengthen the bold approach, the very kings of metal, Manowar, were announced as headliners for June 8, first day of the manifestation. Line up was later updated with addition of 2nd day headliner, Twisted Sister.

But, earlier this week it was Manowar themselves who gave the first warning to their fans, by posting on December 15, the following statement, on their Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/manowar and official website: http://www.manowar.com: "following the festival organizer's failure to meet their contractual obligations, making MANOWAR's headlining performance at Forces Of Metal Festival on June 8th 2012 impossible, the band's performance is officially canceled." FOM have admitted themself to the contractual problem, on their Facebook page.

Friday, December 16 the name of Twisted Sister vanished, without a word, from the festival's homepage. The only comment on the promoter's behalf  came again through the festival's Facebook page: " Keep in mind: Forces of Metal is a 2 day hardrock and heavy metal festival, not a one band concert. After this weekend we will bring you news!"

At the moment, the festival's homepage: http://www.forcesofmetal.nl/ stands without headliners, the event's credibility hangs from a thread and further trouble seems to be arising, as an increasing number of ticket owners demand refund, based on the fact that the bands who were their the main reason in purchasing of the tickets will no loger take the stage of the festival.
